BIZOOKA 5.0 Back
Because IDEAS need PLATFORMS

The Entrepreneurship cell of Symbiosis Institute of International Business, a premier B-school in Pune in collaboration with Symbiosis Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation as a title sponsor, recently organized a B-Plan competition, ‘BIZOOKA 5.0’, the fifth version of the flagship event of E-Cell.

The event began with an article writing competition which was in sync with the current trends in entrepreneurship. The best article was given a chance to win awards and also to be published in the E-Cell Magazine ' Anthaprerna'.

The buzz for the event began with a fun pre-event which was conducted on 4th December named 'Jugaad 1.0'. Although it was a fun event, the teams had to showcase their convincing, analyzing and creative skills. Executed within a span of 30 minutes, the event involved a lot of learning for the participating teams.

On 8th December, the founder of PapaZapata, Mr Arjun Panchal conducted a session on 'How to Construct a B Plan'. The event was attended by many students from all specializations and courses. The room was filled with ideas and zeal to think of entrepreneurship as a career option.

On 14th December, the final event of Bizooka 5.0 was conducted over two days and was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries. 8 teams were shortlisted for the semi-finals from premier B-schools across India, after two rigorous rounds of participants sharing their plans in the presence of judges.

The B-plans were evaluated by Mr Nishant Tikekar (Head, SCEI), Mr Jigar Patel (Investor, SmartGain), Mr Aditya Sharma (Co-founder, Souled Store), Ms Nistha Tripathi (Bestselling Author, No Shortcuts). Mr Varun Patel (CEO, SpokesDigital), Mr Amir Khourji (Founder, Irani Cafe).

E-Cell SIIB also conducted a session on success and failure stories of various startups which was spearheaded by Ms Nistha Tripathi. Students, in spite of a packed schedule, showed interest in the session and made it interesting through their participation. The session was an eye-opener for many in the crowd.

After the gruelling session and evaluation on the 14th, 4 teams made it to the finals. The finals were conducted on 15th December in the presence of Mr. Nishant Tikekar (Head, SCEI), Mr. Dharamveer Singh Chauhan (Co-founder, Zostel), Mr. Gautam Das (Co-founder, Oorjan Cleantech Pvt Ltd), Mr. Abhay Phansikar (Director, IEEE Bombay Section).

They also addressed the audience and shared their entrepreneurial journey. It was a great learning experience for the students. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr.Suchita Jha, faculty-in-charge of E-Cell SIIB.

As for us at SCEI, ideas and plans are the framework of any innovation and encouraging such ideas is a strong indication of something great coming in future. A number of start-ups from the competition showed interest in incubating with SCEI, who wanted to take their business plan forward to the commercialisation stage with the support of SCEI.
